Lyle Earl Hood, 83, of Hawi died April 13 at Kohala Hospital. Born in Paia, Maui he was a retired mechanical engineer for C. Brewer and Co. Sugar and Bumble Bee Seafoods, member of Kalahikiola Congregational Church, past treasurer and member of the Kohala Senior Citizens, a 31st Degree Mason and past lodge master at Golden Trowel Masonic Lodge in Norwalk, Calif. and U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday (April 30) at Kalahikiola Congregational Church in Kapaau. Celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawi County Cemetery.
